DMD Diamond is one of the oldest projects on the cryptocurrency market and the first blockchain to implement a cooperative consensus with a delegated PoS-powered validator election.

Founded in 2013, DMD Diamond is constantly evolving and upgrading to new market conditions.

Its 2021 upgrade — DMD v4 — features true decentralization, on-chain governance, fast transaction times, low fees, low carbon footprint, security, interoperability, and smart contracts deployment. DMD v4 utilizes the world’s first blockchain with a cooperative HBBFT consensus supplemented by a dPOS-based validator election. On top of that, DMD v4 is the first blockchain to implement a sustainable and endless reward mechanic with a low max finite supply of just 4.38 million coins.

DMD Diamond has a maximum supply of 4.38 million coins, over 81% of them are already in circulation and the rest is slowly powering node rewards for the upcoming decades.

Who Are the Founders of the project?

DMD Diamond is one of the few blockchain projects governed by the community only. The original creator of DMD disappeared a few months after its launch in 2013. Since then a small team of developers and enthusiasts maintain and evolve the code and adjust the vision for the coin.

For now, the most active members in the DMD Diamond community are Aleksander Mesor, Helmut Siedl. Technical knowledge and code improvements and development of v4 is handled by Thomas Haller, Dr. David Forstenlechner, and Dietmar Hofer.

How Is your project Network Secured?

DMDv4 is secured with HBBFT Honeybadger cooperative consensus and a dPOS like a node election protocol based on POSDAO (similar dPOS system to that, which was used by xDAI blockchain). This combined is a true decentral solution that follows the ideals of Satoshi Nakamoto.
